This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

This rug was hand knotted in Isparta, Turkey in 1980 — making it approximately 45 years old. It is a calm, unpretentious piece — the kind of rug that works quietly in a room without demanding attention.
The field is a warm ivory cream, covered edge to edge with an all-over floral lattice in warm brown — small botanical forms repeating in a continuous, even grid. The pattern is clear but not bold, present but not dominant. A narrow warm brown border frames the composition simply and cleanly.
The overall palette is fully tonal — ivory and warm brown, nothing more. It is the kind of neutral rug that layers well under furniture, anchors a bedroom without overpowering it, and suits farmhouse, transitional, and Scandinavian interiors equally.
The wool surface is low and naturally distressed, with the honest patina of 45 years of natural aging.
