This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This rug was handwoven in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated carpet-weaving cities, known for its refined compositions and exceptional wool quality.

What makes this piece stand out is its rare color story. The central medallion is geometric and structured — a diamond-shaped lattice composition in warm camel and brown tones, anchored by a precise border of charcoal brown. But it is the dusty teal accents that make this rug truly unexpected: soft, faded turquoise-green botanical scrolls appear in the border corners and along the field's edge, adding a quiet pop of color that feels both vintage and effortlessly modern.

The ivory cream field surrounds the medallion with generous open space — giving the rug a light, airy quality despite its intricate detailing. Nearly five decades of natural wear have softened everything beautifully: the colors are muted, the pile is almost completely flat, and the overall feel is one of quiet, aged elegance.
Condition is good: no tears, no odor, edges intact and hand-stitched.
