✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This striking half-moon shaped accent piece was cut from a larger handwoven Isparta carpet, preserving one of the most dramatic sections of the original — the central medallion and the ornate floral border.
The upper field is a rich, deep crimson red — bold and confident — centered around a large floral medallion rendered in ivory cream, navy blue, and sage green. Below it runs a wide decorative border in warm ivory cream, filled with scrolling tulips, botanical vines, and rosette motifs in red, blue, and green. A narrow slate blue outer border frames the entire composition.
The overall effect is regal, rich, and full of character — the kind of piece that stops people in their tracks.
