This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This small accent rug was cut from a larger handwoven Isparta carpet, preserving one of the most striking sections of the original piece — the central medallion and the ornate floral border.

The field is a beautifully faded sage mint green, worn down over decades to a smooth, velvety flatness. At the center sits an elegant medallion in ivory cream, detailed with pink, dusty blue, and brown motifs. The upper border is particularly striking — a wide ivory band filled with large floral palmette designs in pink, blue, and brown, framed by a narrow geometric stripe in deep pink and navy.

The overall palette — sage green, blush pink, cream, and dusty blue — gives this piece a soft, dreamy quality that feels both vintage and effortlessly current. The heavy distressing only adds to its character, giving it that lived-in, layered look that is so sought after in bohemian and eclectic interiors.
