This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG

This runner was cut from a larger vintage Isparta carpet, hand-knotted in the Isparta region of southwestern Turkey — one of Anatolia's most celebrated rug-weaving centers. The piece carries all the hallmarks of classic Isparta craftsmanship: a structured medallion composition, rich border framing, and fine wool knotted onto a cotton foundation.

The field is a soft, faded sage-mint green — an unusual and sought-after color in vintage Turkish rugs. At the center sits a large ornate medallion composed of layered floral arabesques rendered in ivory, blush pink, dusty lavender, and steel blue-grey. The medallion radiates outward with scrolling palmette details, creating a sense of depth and movement. A decorative border in dusty pink and dark navy frames both short ends of the runner with additional floral motifs.

Over the decades, the pile has worn evenly to a low, smooth finish. The colors have softened and faded naturally, giving this runner a dreamy, washed-out quality that is impossible to replicate artificially. This is authentic vintage patina — earned over time.
