✦ TWO WORLDS IN ONE HALF MOON ✦
This vivid red and peach semicircle was woven in 1979 — entirely by hand, using pure wool and the timeless Isparta technique. It was once the corner of a full carpet — and what a corner it was. The upper arch carries a sweeping peach and somon border of large arabesk palmet motifs cradling pink roses and green leaves, all framed by a crisp navy blue stripe. Below, a vivid red field unfolds with scrolling floral vines disappearing toward the edges — two completely different worlds sharing one perfect half moon.
Rather than let this corner of history disappear, we carefully cut and professionally finished the edges — preserving every inch of the original hand-knotted field and giving it a new life at a new threshold.
For over forty-five years these colors have deepened and settled. The red has aged into something richer than new. The peach has warmed into somon gold. This is not a palette you can manufacture. This is forty-five years of light, love and time, woven into every knot.
