This vivid red and cream semicircle was woven in 1984 — entirely by hand, using pure wool and the timeless Isparta technique. It was once the corner of a full carpet, carrying within it a field of overlapping oversized flowers — blooms so large they barely fit within the red ground, tumbling over each other in a garden frozen in time.
Below, a cream border runs with a continuous vine of red, green and blue flowers — delicate and intricate, framed by slate blue stripes above and below.
Rather than let this corner of history disappear, we carefully cut and professionally finished the edges into this perfect half moon form — preserving every inch of the original hand-knotted field.
For forty years these colors have deepened, softened and settled. The red has aged into something richer than new. The pile has worn completely smooth — not to bare warp, but to a velvety flatness that catches light differently at every angle. This is not a flaw. This is forty years of footsteps, love and time.
