This pale grey and cream runner was woven in 1984 — entirely by hand, using pure wool and the timeless Isparta technique. Every petal of the scattered florals, every line of the greek key border, every curve of the central medallion was knotted one thread at a time. For forty years, it lived beneath the footsteps of a family, absorbing their daily rhythm until it faded into something almost ethereal.
This runner was cut from a larger hand-knotted carpet — rather than let the piece disappear, we carefully trimmed and professionally re-finished the edges, preserving every inch of the original hand-knotted field.
The pale grey has worn so beautifully over four decades that the rug now exists somewhere between presence and absence — a ghost of its former self, and more beautiful for it. The warm beige medallion and cream florals emerge softly from the stone ground like memories. This is not a color you can manufacture. This is forty years of footsteps, love, and time — woven into every knot.
