✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.
You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This runner was hand-knotted in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving cities — known for fine knotting, precise geometric compositions, and the enduring quality of their Anatolian wool.
The field is a faded teal green — soft, cool, and completely contemporary in its palette. Across every inch flows a dense all-over geometric lattice: interlocking ogee forms filled with small floral rosettes in ivory, creating a precise and hypnotic composition. At both ends, ornate border panels in ivory and teal with scrolling botanical detail frame the runner with quiet elegance.
The teal and ivory combination is one of the most sought-after palettes in contemporary interior design — and here it exists naturally, aged into being over decades.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The ogee lattice — that interlocking pointed arch form that covers this runner from end to end — is one of the oldest and most significant geometric structures in the Anatolian and Islamic decorative tradition. Each ogee form is complete in itself: balanced, symmetrical, whole. And yet they interlock with every neighboring form, connected by the same geometry, the same logic, the same hand.
It is a pattern about unity. About the idea that individual things — individual lives, individual homes — are part of one continuous, unbroken whole.
Teal, in the Anatolian tradition, carries the protective energy of water and sky. Like turquoise, it is believed to ward off harm and bring calm to the spaces it occupies. A teal runner in your hallway is a quiet guardian — present, grounding, and still.
In your home, that protection and that unity continue with every step.
