This ivory and slate grey area rug was woven in 1992 — entirely by hand, using pure wool and the timeless Isparta technique. Every ogee, every tiny floral center, every scrolling tendril of the dense trellis was knotted one thread at a time. The weaver left no empty space — from edge to edge, a continuous interlocking arabesk fills the entire field in slate grey and charcoal on ivory cream.

There is no border here. No beginning and no end. Just the quiet rhythm of the trellis, repeating endlessly — like stone carved by patient hands, or frost traced on a winter window.

For over thirty years this rug has aged quietly. The ivory has deepened into warm cream. The grey has settled into a soft charcoal. The pile has naturally aged across the surface, giving the rug a beautiful understated texture that works with everything and competes with nothing.
