The entire field is alive — sweeping scrolling stems bearing cream and slate blue flowers drift across the warm burnt orange ground like a garden seen through amber light.
A full cream border frames the field on all four sides — itself alive with slate blue floral motifs framed by a crisp inner slate stripe — giving this rug a complete, classical composition that is rare in pieces of this age and condition.
For over forty years this terracotta has aged into something extraordinary. Not the bright orange of a new rug — something deeper, warmer, more human. The slate blue has softened.
