✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.
You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This runner was hand-knotted in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving cities — known for fine knotting, precise geometric compositions, and the enduring quality of their Anatolian wool.
The field has faded over decades into an almost pure ivory white — open, luminous, and extraordinarily soft. Against this near-white ground, a dense all-over geometric floral lattice appears in soft mocha brown: interlocking diamond forms filled with small botanical motifs, precise and delicate. There is no border — the pattern simply reaches the edges and stops.
The effect is minimal and refined — almost ghostly in its softness. This is a rug that has been distilled by time into something quieter and more beautiful than it was the day it was made.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The geometric floral lattice on this runner is one of the oldest protective patterns in the Anatolian weaving tradition. Each interlocking diamond creates an unbroken grid across the surface — a network of order, of protection, of the human desire to make beautiful the spaces where life is lived.

What makes this piece particularly moving is what time has done to it. The original colors — whatever warm tones the weaver chose — have surrendered almost entirely to the ivory ground. What remains is the structure: the pattern, the geometry, the intention. The diamonds are still there. The botanical details are still there. Only the color has softened into something approaching white.

In Anatolian tradition, white is the color of openness, of purity, of a home that is ready to receive whatever comes next. This rug has arrived at white through decades of living — and in doing so, has become something entirely its own.
In your home, that quiet arrival continues.
