✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This rug was hand knotted in Isparta, Turkey in 1989 — making it approximately 36 years old. It is one of the most on-trend pieces in our current collection — a color palette that feels both vintage and completely current.
The wide outer border is a soft sage green — deep enough to be grounding, muted enough to feel calm. Botanical floral and leaf forms move through the border with quiet precision, punctuated by small cream accents. Inside the border, a bright ivory cream field opens wide and generous.
At the center, a classic Isparta medallion composition unfolds in sage green and dusty pink — a combination that feels both traditional and thoroughly modern. The medallion is formal and symmetrical, with flowing arabesque forms radiating outward and corner spandrels anchoring each edge. Additional botanical floral forms are scattered across the ivory field, giving the composition depth and movement without clutter.
The wool surface is low and naturally distressed, with the honest patina of more than three decades of aging. Pattern is clear and well preserved throughout.
