This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

This rug was hand knotted in Isparta, Turkey in 1978 — making it approximately 47 years old. It is one of the most delicate and feminine pieces in our current collection — a rug that feels like it belongs in a room that values quietness.
The field has washed over nearly five decades to a soft ivory cream — warm and clean, with the gentle luminosity that only aged wool can hold. At the center, a small geometric medallion sits with quiet precision — compact and formal, rendered in warm brown and navy blue. Around it, the field breathes open and wide, punctuated by scattered botanical forms — blush pink floral buds, sage green leaf sprays, and small navy blue accents placed with a light, almost casual hand.
The wide border carries a flowing floral vine in soft sage green — roses and botanical forms moving continuously around the perimeter with a gentle, unhurried rhythm. A narrow inner stripe of sage frames the field with architectural precision.
The overall palette — ivory, blush, sage, and navy — is soft and feminine without being sweet. It is the kind of color combination that works in a bedroom, a living room, a reading corner, or anywhere that deserves a little grace.
The wool surface is low and naturally distressed, soft underfoot, with the honest patina of nearly five decades of natural aging.
