✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This rug was handwoven in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated carpet-weaving cities, known for its refined compositions and exceptional wool quality.

What makes this piece truly rare is what time has done to it. Over more than four decades, the colors have faded so gently, so completely, that the medallion now floats like a watermark across a pale ivory field. The design is still there — a classic central medallion with floral details and a structured border — but rendered in the softest possible palette: pale gray, dusty taupe, and barely-there beige against bright ivory white.

This is the washed-out aesthetic at its most refined. Not worn out — worn in. The pile is extremely low, almost completely flat, giving the surface a smooth, velvety texture that photographs beautifully and feels incredible underfoot.

This is not a rug for everyone. It is a rug for someone who understands that the quietest things are often the most beautiful.
Condition is good: no tears, no odor, edges intact and hand-stitched.
