This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This rug was handwoven in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated carpet-weaving cities, known for its refined compositions and exceptional wool quality.
At the heart of the design sits a classic central medallion, its layered geometric and floral details radiating outward across a warm cream ivory field. The surrounding border is dense with scrolling vines, botanical motifs, and corner medallions — all rendered in warm beige, camel, taupe, and deep brown tones.
Over four decades of natural wear have softened the colors beautifully. The palette has faded into a quiet, warm neutrality that feels both timeless and effortlessly modern — the kind of depth that no new rug can replicate.

The pile is low and smooth — worn gently over the years into a flat, velvety surface. Condition is good: no tears, no odor, edges intact and hand-stitched.
