This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

This circle rug was hand-cut from one such rug — a vintage handwoven wool rug from Demirci, Manisa — the same town where we are based. We found this piece close to home, in the truest sense of the word.

The edges have been carefully hand-finished to ensure durability. You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This round rug was hand-cut from a vintage rug woven in Demirci, Manisa — a small town in western Turkey with a long tradition of fine wool weaving. Demirci rugs are known for their precise knotting, delicate floral compositions, and the exceptional quality of their local Anatolian wool.

The field is a luminous ivory white — bright and open, worn to a near-white over decades of natural aging. Across this pale ground flows a dense all-over floral lattice: interlocking diamond forms filled with small botanical motifs in burgundy and soft mint green. The mint green accents are what make this piece truly special — an unexpected, delicate color that gives the composition a freshness and lightness that feels entirely contemporary. A narrow floral border runs along the top and bottom edges, visible where the circle cuts across the original rug's structure.

Cut into a circle, the composition becomes something complete and beautiful — a world contained within a perfect form.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The interlocking diamond lattice on this rug is one of the oldest geometric structures in Anatolian weaving. Each diamond is a lozenge — a protective form in Turkish folk tradition, believed to ward off harm and create order within the home. When diamonds interlock and repeat across an entire field, they form an unbroken grid of protection — every corner of the rug, every inch of the floor beneath it, equally guarded.

The burgundy and mint green color combination is rare and meaningful. Burgundy — deep, aged red — speaks of life, warmth, and the depth of time. Mint green — soft, cool, fresh — speaks of renewal, of spring, of what is always beginning again. Together they create a balance that is both grounded and alive: the old and the new, the warm and the cool, held together in perfect tension.
