We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.What you receive is not just a rug. This small area rug was hand-knotted in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving cities — and dates to the 1970s-80s, making it approximately 40-50 years old.There is no pattern on this rug. There never was — or if there was, it has surrendered entirely to decades of use and light. What remains is completely solid crimson red: a deep, rich, complex red that has aged and faded into something more nuanced than any dye could produce intentionally.
