This ivory and warm brown area rug was woven in 1983 — entirely by hand, using pure wool and the timeless Isparta technique. Every ogee, every scrolling vine, every tiny floral center was knotted one thread at a time. The entire field is covered in a continuous interlocking ogee trellis — large graceful forms bearing scrolling vines and small floral motifs, all in warm brown and caramel with the softest dusty blue accents scattered throughout like morning frost.

For over forty years the pile has worn down to almost nothing — and in doing so has created something no new rug could replicate. The pattern is still there, fully visible, but it exists now as a whisper rather than a shout. A ghost of itself. More beautiful for the time it has carried.

This is not a flaw. This is forty years of light, warmth and time — woven into every knot.
