This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.

This small area rug was hand-knotted in Isparta — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving cities — known for fine knotting, graceful floral compositions, and the enduring quality of their Anatolian wool.
What makes this piece truly extraordinary is its composition. The field is a luminous ivory cream — open, airy, and light. Across this pale ground, botanical flowers and stems are scattered freely — not in a dense lattice, not in a repeating grid, but loosely and naturally, as if someone had scattered flowers across a pale linen cloth. Dusty pink roses, red blooms, green stems and leaves, soft gold accents — each motif placed with intention, none repeating exactly. The wide terracotta orange border frames the entire composition with warmth and definition.
This is an Isparta rug unlike most. The open field, the free botanical scatter, the warm terracotta border — it is more garden painting than traditional rug.
