Vintage Turkish Round Area Rug, Isparta Handwoven Wool Circle, Distressed Ivory Sage Green Gold Floral, Diameter 119 cm / 46.9 in / 3.9 ft, Anatolian Farmhouse Neutral
✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
This circle rug was hand-cut from one such rug — a vintage Isparta handwoven wool rug. The edges have been carefully hand-finished to ensure durability. What you receive is not a machine-made circle rug. It is a piece of a real rug, from a real home, made by a real pair of hands decades ago.
You will never find another exactly like it.
✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This round rug was hand-cut from a vintage Isparta rug — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving regions, known for fine knotting, graceful floral compositions, and the enduring quality of Anatolian wool.
The field is a luminous ivory white — exceptionally open and light, giving the rug an airy, almost ethereal quality. At the center sits a floral medallion in sage green and soft gold — delicate, organic, and beautifully worn. Around it, scattered floral clusters in the same sage green and gold drift across the open ivory ground. At the top and bottom edges, where the circle cuts across the original rug's border structure, bands of warm brown floral detail are visible — rich and grounding, framing the composition naturally.
The combination of ivory, sage green, and gold is one of the most sought-after palettes in contemporary farmhouse and neutral interior design. Here it exists naturally, aged into being over decades without any artificial intervention.
✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The open ivory field of this rug is itself a statement. In Anatolian weaving tradition, an open ground — one that lets the eye rest between the details — is a composition about breath. About space. About the idea that beauty does not need to fill every inch to be powerful. The scattered floral clusters across this ivory field are generous without being overwhelming — blessings distributed freely, without crowding.
The sage green that runs through the composition carries the oldest meaning in the Anatolian palette. Green is the color of paradise, of gardens, of water — of everything that grows and renews itself season after season. In a rug, green says: this home is alive. This home is growing. This home will always have something new to offer.
The warm brown border bands that frame the composition at the edges speak of groundedness and roots — of the deep, quiet stability that lies beneath all beauty.
In your home, that stability and that growth continue together.
