Vintage Turkish Round Area Rug, Isparta Handwoven Wool Circle, Distressed Ivory Gold Sage Green Medallion, Diameter 119 cm / 46.9 in / 3.9 ft, Anatolian Neutral Farmhouse

✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

This circle rug was hand-cut from one such rug — a vintage Isparta handwoven wool rug. The edges have been carefully hand-finished to ensure durability. What you receive is not a machine-made circle rug. It is a piece of a real rug, from a real home, made by a real pair of hands decades ago.
You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This round rug was hand-cut from a vintage Isparta rug — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving regions, known for fine knotting, graceful medallion compositions, and the enduring quality of Anatolian wool.
The field is a luminous ivory white — open, bright, and airy. At the center sits a large, ornate medallion in soft gold and sage green — warm and cool tones perfectly balanced, radiating outward in a composition of scrolling vines, botanical details, and delicate floral motifs. The sage green accents are what make this piece truly special: a muted, natural green that feels both ancient and completely contemporary, sitting beautifully against the ivory ground. Warm brown charcoal outlines define every detail with quiet precision.
The overall effect is refined, natural, and deeply versatile — a rug that works effortlessly in farmhouse, Scandinavian, transitional, or any neutral interior.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The central medallion on this rug is one of the most significant forms in the Anatolian weaving tradition — the axis of the rug's world, the still point from which all beauty radiates. In Turkish tradition, the medallion represents divine light and cosmic order: a center around which everything else finds its place.

The sage green that fills this medallion carries its own meaning. Green — in all its shades — is the color of paradise in Islamic tradition. It is the color of gardens, of water, of renewal, of everything that grows. A green medallion at the center of an ivory field is a garden at the center of a home: a quiet, living presence that makes the space around it more beautiful simply by being there.
The flowing vines that radiate outward from the medallion speak of continuity and connection — the unbroken thread of life passing from one generation to the next. In your home, that thread continues.
