This warm wheat and golden ivory area rug was woven in 1973 — entirely by hand, using pure wool and the timeless Isparta technique. Once it carried a full composition — scattered floral bouquets drifting across a warm golden field, scrolling vines connecting each bloom, a border framing the whole. We can only imagine what it looked like when it was new.

For over fifty years, footsteps slowly erased almost everything. The pile is gone — worn completely down to the warp, revealing the dense hand-knotted cotton foundation beneath. What remains are shadows — the faintest traces of floral bouquets in soft brown taupe, barely there, visible only in certain light, like memories.
The ground has aged into a warm wheat gold — not cream, not yellow, something between the two that no dye house could recreate.
This is not a color you can manufacture. This is over fifty years of light, warmth and time — absorbed into every thread.
