Vintage Turkish Isparta Handwoven Wool Rug, Allover Floral Rosette Grid, Distressed Beige Pink Navy, 40.5x96 cm / 15.9x37.8 in / 1.3x3.2 ft, Boho Cottagecore

✦ THE STORY BEHIND THIS RUG
This rug was woven by a woman.
Not in a factory. Not by machine. But by hand — on a loom, at home, in a village in Anatolia. Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.
We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.
First, we shake out decades of dust. Then we carefully shear the pile — what we call "hav" in Turkish — to bring the surface back to an even, clean finish. The rug is then washed and goes through a series of restoration steps. Finally, the edges are hand-stitched to ensure it arrives in your home structurally sound and ready to use.
What you receive is not just a rug. It is a one-of-a-kind textile that survived decades, was made by someone's hands, and was carefully prepared to live another chapter — in your home.
You will never find another exactly like it.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This small rug is cut from a larger Isparta carpet — the same allover rosette pattern as its sister piece, but in a longer, narrower format that reads more like a runner accent. The edges have been carefully finished on all sides. The design is borderless: the repeating eight-petal rosette grid runs freely to all four edges, giving it a clean, contemporary quality.
Compared to its companion, this piece has faded slightly further — the warm sandy beige of the ground is more dominant here, the pinks have softened toward dusty rose, and the navy accents have taken on a quieter indigo quality. The overall effect is softer and more tonal, leaning into the neutral end of the palette while still carrying enough color to hold interest.
The rug is in good distressed condition — low pile, moderate natural fading, structurally sound with finished edges.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The eight-petal rosette — "sekiz yapraklı gül" in Anatolian tradition — is a symbol of completeness and divine order. Eight is a number of balance in many cultures; in Islamic geometric tradition, the eight-pointed star represents the intersection of earth and heaven, the material and the spiritual.
Arranged in a repeating grid, these rosettes create a pattern without beginning or end — a field of continuous beauty that the weaver extended as far as the loom allowed. This piece carries a fragment of that endless field. Small in size, but complete in itself.

✦ WHERE TO USE IT
The narrow format makes this piece ideal beside a bed, in front of a bathroom sink, along a short kitchen counter, or at the foot of a sofa. It also works well as a decorative wall hanging or layered over a larger neutral rug. The soft beige and dusty rose palette suits farmhouse, cottagecore, boho, and Scandinavian interiors beautifully.

✦ CARE & CLEANING
Vacuum regularly without the beater bar. Rotate periodically to ensure even wear. For spills, blot immediately with a clean dry cloth — do not rub. Professional cleaning recommended for deep cleaning. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the natural wool colors.
