This rug was woven by a woman.

Decades ago, Turkish women wove these rugs either to furnish their own homes or to contribute to the family's income. Each pattern was chosen by the weaver herself, each knot tied with her own hands. No two rugs were ever identical, because no two women wove the same way.

We source these rugs directly from old homes and private collectors across Turkey — places where these pieces have rested for 40, 50, sometimes 60 years. When we find one, it begins a journey before it reaches you.

This circle rug was hand-cut from one such rug — a vintage Isparta handwoven wool rug. The edges have been carefully hand-finished to ensure durability. What you receive is not a machine-made circle rug. It is a piece of a real rug, from a real home, made by a real pair of hands decades ago.

✦ ABOUT THIS RUG
This round rug was hand-cut from a vintage Isparta rug — one of Turkey's most celebrated rug-weaving regions, known for fine knotting, graceful floral compositions, and the enduring quality of Anatolian wool.

The field is a luminous ivory white — bright, clean, and open, worn beautifully over decades into something almost luminous. At the center sits a floral medallion in warm brown — delicate, symmetrical, and softly worn. Around it, horizontal bands of scattered floral motifs in the same warm brown drift across the composition — above the medallion, below it, and around the edges where the circle cuts across the original rug's border structure.

The overall effect is extraordinarily soft and refined — a rug that seems to glow rather than simply sit on the floor. It asks for nothing and offers everything.

✦ THE MEANING BEHIND THE PATTERN
The composition of this rug — central medallion surrounded by horizontal bands of scattered florals — is one of the most classical layouts in Anatolian weaving. The medallion is the axis, the center of order. The scattered floral bands around it are a different kind of beauty: unstructured, generous, as if the weaver could not stop adding flowers once she started.
